Gorgeous setting: Melton Estate
Happy is the bride the sun shines on, or so the adage goes. 
These days there’s no need to worry about the weather, keeping in the shade, or out of the rain, if your wedding aisle is down a purpose-built event pavilion.
Add a vineyard setting for ambience, a modern restaurant, and multiple indoor/outdoor options for guests, and it sets the scene for an idyllic country wedding.
Melton Estate is a boutique winery and event venue, set amongst vines on 4.8 hectares in West Melton, Christchurch, only 15 minutes from the airport.
Weddings are a speciality, with boutique packages for two to 30 guests, and facilities to cater for up to 150 people seated.
Co-owner Tracy Caunter says boutique weddings have been popular post-Covid-19.
“If you want a small wedding, from two to 30 people, we provide the celebrant, flowers for the bridal party, and a single tier wedding cake as part of the
all-inclusive package.
“Everything is taken care of. It’s a very personalised service,” she adds.
Of course, larger weddings are also catered for with wedding specialists to help with planning and ensure everything runs smoothly.
The winery restaurant and cellar door is open all year on Thursday to Sunday from 10am to 5pm, and otherwise by arrangement for weddings, conferences, corporate events and family celebrations.
