Christmas at the Crowne: Crowne Plaza Christchurch

Crowne Plaza Christchurch is hosting their Christmas Day Buffet at Market Place Restaurant. All the joy of Christmas feasting but without the preparation – what could be better?

Promising a day of decadence and relaxation, this December 25th Market Place Restaurant will once again be wrapped in seasonal decorations, full of holiday ambience for its Christmas Day lunch and dinner.

Their Christmas Day buffet is filled with traditional classics including sage and onion stuffed turkey, whole-baked Akaroa salmon, roasted leg of Canterbury lamb, honey glazed ham, king prawns, and mussels – plus all the salads and vegetables you could wish for. And if you’ve still got room at the end, you can top it off with your pick of six stunning desserts, plus tea and coffee.

For $165 per adult (including a complimentary glass of bubbles), and $60 per child (aged 6-12 years, while children under 5 dine free) – the whole family will be rolling out of Market Place feeling satisfied and full of Christmas cheer.

From the beginning of December, Crowne Plaza Christchurch will also showcase their annual gingerbread house.

Executive Chef Katherine Mueller and her team dedicate a whole week to creating and decorating the iconic 60kg gingerbread house.

“I have such fond memories of Christmas” says Katherine. “For brunch we used to start with mimosas, smoked mackerel, French toast and other treats, then a few hours later a traditional Christmas dinner with prawns and turkey (must have stuffing!). We’d finish the night with homemade German cookies and ice wine.”
