A grand opportunity

Work is well under way to turn The Grand in central Christchurch into a world-class destination, complete with an artisan French bakery, people-focused food court experience, visitor information centre, iconic restaurants, and bars and one of New Zealand’s largest outdoor plazas.

Stage 1 of the project is already fully funded.

A second crowdfunding campaign went live earlier this month (6 May) for Stage 2, which is the artisan bakery and Stage 3, which is the first floor, including the Stamps Restaurant, a tasting experience, retail, pastry school, private dining and production kitchens.

The Grand Cathedral Square CEO and founder Darin Rainbird says $2 million is needed for stages 2 and 3.

“Our vision is for The Grand to be a place that Canterbury locals are proud of, and a must-see destination for out-of-town visitors – a place where people can meet, greet, socialise and play.

“Here is your opportunity to be a part of this amazing redevelopment and take ownership of your city’s revitalisation with an investment in The Grand.”
