Pasta Vera is the preferred gourmet pasta supplier to restaurants and hotels around New Zealand and works with chefs to create their own specialised pasta. Based in Wigram, Pasta Vera’s new custom-built factory is attached to the factory shop and the team regularly offer special deals, which are featured on the Facebook page, along with competitions and recipe ideas.
From gnocchi, fresh ribbon cut pasta and Manuka-smoked salmon tortellini, to roasted beetroot, pinenut and feta ravioloni, pesto and tasty readymade meals – the chicken tortellini with Pasta Vera carbonara sauce is an easy meal idea and a favourite for all ages. Another top seller is the handmade lasagne, available in a variety of scrumptious flavours.
Choose from the home-style baked beef, roasted vegetable, smoked chicken, or the pumpkin, spinach and feta – including gluten-free and vegan options. With the winter school holidays coming up, owners Phil and Linda say the 3kg lasagne tray provides a delicious and convenient meal for large groups of people – ideal for weekends away or those unexpected holiday guests. “We always have a selection of the frozen trays and fresh beef lasagnes in the factory shop, which are also available as a six-pack.”
