The it-list – from The Crossing

Seven hotspots from within The Crossing to keep on your radar when Cup & Show rolls around, from spring style to how to spend the week’s celebrations, curated by editor Nina Tucker.

  1. Lock in your look at Juliette Hogan. The new season in-store speaks to me like I’m Rebecca Bloomwood in Confessions of a Shopaholic… chic skirts, spring silhouettes, patterns and shades that feel as powerful as they are poised. I found something perfect for every day of the Cup & Show week calendar.
  2. Schedule in a mid-week Negroni, pasta or spring spritz at Bar Franco. This charming Italian restaurant and Negroni bar upstairs at The Crossing offers fresh pasta, seasonal antipasti, and cocktails worth lingering over. Rose-red plaster from wall to ceiling, fringed lamps, curved velvet booths, a canopy of dried flowers… and a popular resident dachshund.
    Bar Franco is calling.

  3. Start your skin prep now at Lovoir Day Spa. Grab a group of girlfriends and spoil yourselves and your skin with premium pampering. Book in for anything from facials, massages and maintenance treatments like waxing and tinting to advanced skin treatments including IPL, peels, skin needling and lymphatic facial therapy.

  4. Suit up at Barkers. Modern yet understated, this two-story space with a fine industrial feel is where you’ll find sleek suits, sharp tailored pieces, and easy linen looks for Cup & Show events, spring weddings, and everything in between.

  5. Shop for after-party style at RUBY. My obsession with the latest RUBY Resort collection isn’t going anywhere, as seen on entrepreneur, content creator and ‘Rubette’ Riley Hemson (pictured here). The colour palette is chef’s kiss, as joyful and vibrant as spring dressing should be.

  6. Kick off the party with fresh footwear from Andrea Biani. Statement slingbacks, heels that have your name on them, and the perfect balance between funky and refined. I have more shoes from Andrea Biani than I can fit into my wardrobe, but what a wonderful problem to have, right?

  7. Indulge in brunch on Ladies Day (or any day, really) at Elements, Level 1 at The Crossing. Defined as a a space, to meet, eat and celebrate in the heart of the city, this brunch restaurant has crushed the morning menu with refined, elevated classics. From avocado on rye and red rice pudding to Japanese pancakes, sticky duck Benedict and chilli crab scramble, and a matcha lineup you’ll love.

Cup & Show week starts at The Crossing, 166 Cashel Street, Christchurch. thecrossing.co.nz.
