Sheer decadence: Sweet Soul Patisserie

The delectable Parisian-style desserts – the Spiced Caramel Apple, the Lemon Tart and so many others which customers have come to love – are the same.

But Sweet Soul Patisserie has moved from its little spot in the Guthrey Centre to a bigger space under The Terrace on Avon building near the Riverside Market.

Sweet Soul’s managers now have a mezzanine area above their shop itself where they can have a Champagne lounge for celebrations and other functions.

Imagine indulging in fine French patisserie and a glass of Champagne before going to the Trotting Cup. Sheer decadence, especially as all the classic desserts will be available in petit versions – tasting plates of all the very best flavours and new limited editions.

The enticing display in the shop cabinet is still at the heart of Sweet Soul Patisserie. “You can see what is happening in the kitchen from the shop,” says co-manager Taina Scur. “We’ve spent a good deal of time working on the look of the new premises and been careful to retain the French back-street character of our old place. The fit-out was designed by an architect with French heritage, so that has been a great collaboration.”
