Pottery pastimes: Ruffshuffler Ceramics
As the colder months encourage us indoors, finding a fun and creative activity to enjoy with friends has never been easier.
The Addington studio of Ruffshuffler Ceramics is a hive of activity, offering a range of experiences for anyone keen to try their hand at working with clay. Best of all, there’s no ongoing commitment required.
“People love the fact that we have a no-membership policy,” says Ruffshuffler Ceramics general manager Robyn Smith. “We’re the perfect place to enjoy a creative session with friends, regardless of your previous experience.”
Among the studio’s most popular offerings are the Sip & Pot sessions, which are now available daily.
“These allow you to unwind and have fun with friends or colleagues while creating something unique,” says Robyn.
“All equipment and instruction are provided, along with a cup of coffee or chai tea.”
For those looking to develop their skills, there’s an introductory pottery wheel course. Once participants have completed it, they can access the studio’s ‘My Workspace with Tutor’ programme to refine their techniques.
Another popular option is the eight-week pottery course, where participants create four plates, four mugs and four pasta bowls.
All glazing and firing costs are included.
Located at 90 Disraeli Street, Addington, Ruffshuffler Ceramics is open seven days a week. The studio also stocks an extensive range of pottery supplies, including glazes, clays, wheels and kilns.
