Leading the way
Be inspired and empowered at this year’s Leadership Speakers Series from the South Canterbury Chamber of Commerce.
T he South Canterbury Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Speaker Series returns in September, bringing together six of the region’s most respected leaders for a professional development programme.
The fortnightly, six-workshop series offers an opportunity for business owners, managers, supervisors and aspiring leaders to hear directly from influential people who have led organisations, shaped communities and inspired others through their leadership.
“This is a chance to get in front of and hear from some of South Canterbury’s most influential leaders,” says South Canterbury Chamber of Commerce chief executive Wendy Smith.
“Each presenter brings their own leadership journey, practical experience and insights that participants can immediately apply within their own workplaces and organisations.”
The 2026 speaker line-up features:
- 11 September, James Meager MP on building a career.
- 25 September, Richie Smith, chairman, on visionary leadership.
- 9 October, Michelle Pye, councillor, on growing business.
- 23 October, Justin Riley, consultant, on leading innovation.
- 6 November, Daniel Webb, KPMG, on strategic partnerships.
- 20 November, Dr Therese Arseneau, chair, on influence.
“Leadership is a skill that continues to evolve throughout our careers,” Wendy says. “This series provides inspiration, practical tools and valuable networking with like-minded leaders from across South Canterbury.”
