Instant style: The Crossing
Editor’s picks: Why I’m loving the winter palette
Grass to forest greens, burgundy hues to excite you for a weekend wine, rich cocoa tones, and a chic sprinkling of silver… winter’s colour palette is what dreams are made of.
There’s something so satisfying – sartorially, of course – when the fashion industry unites over a common colour palette. It makes shopping easy, especially in winter, when each layer needs to be as cohesive as it is cosy. The fashion I found on my visit to The Crossing during a crisp June morning was unique to each store – a distinctly Kiwi or Australian influence from Sylvester to Belleza Boutique and RUBY, Kookai to Country Road and Witchery – injected with eclectic elements that felt straight out of Copenhagen Fashion Week.
This winter’s palette is evergreen; wine-inspired reds, deep greens, and any brown colour are historically ubiquitous come cold weather. Seasonal staples that appear every season, trust these tones to stay timeless year after year.
