Inside the Christchurch Spring Fashion Festival
Runways! Designer showcases! Industry events! Christchurch’s fashion festival – our city’s own New Zealand Fashion Week – returns to the spring calendar for 2026 from 15 to 18 October. Here’s everything you can’t miss out on.
Taking the runway to a new venue this year, state-of-the-art convention centre Te Pae will host the principle shows curated by New Zealand Fashion Week, with satellite events popping up over the city throughout the four day schedule. An unmissable event for fashion lovers of the South Island, the Christchurch Spring Fashion Festival will host a collection of group designer shows, exclusive brand presentations and immersive fashion experiences.
Thursday 15 October: The New Guard
Curated by New Zealand Fashion Week creative director Dan Ahwa, The New Guard brings together some of the most exciting contemporary designers shaping the next chapter of New Zealand fashion. Fresh perspectives, distinctive creative voices and a new generation of talent, this show offers a snapshot of fashion in Aotearoa right now – considered, confident and constantly evolving – featuring Harris Tapper, REBE, Rhoda Nunn, Awatea and more.
Friday 16 October: Fashion for a Cure
Aotearoa’s leading fashion designers from Caitlin Crisp to Dame Trelise Cooper unveil their latest Spring/Summer collections in this spectacular showcase by Breast Cancer Cure featuring 22 incredible designers – all while supporting life-changing breast cancer research. Presented by The Crossing, guests will enjoy a three-course dinner, all-inclusive beverages, exclusive fundraising experiences and an inspiring update from a Breast Cancer Cure funded researcher on the latest breakthroughs in breast cancer research.
Saturday 17 October: The Spring Edit
Your front-row view of the season’s standout looks. A considered edit of iconic New Zealand fashion brands, this show celebrates contemporary local brands through a carefully curated selection of collections from some of Aotearoa’s best designers: Caitlin Crisp, Kathryn Wilson, Juliette Hogan, taylor and more.
The event will also feature offsite events to be announced, including a spotlight on Cantabrian and South Island labels.
