Family flora: Kiwi Flora

Flexibility, adaptability and above all being aware of the changing tastes and requirements of customers are often keys to a business remaining viable and successful.

The staff at Kiwiflora Nurseries near Templeton, certainly model these attributes.

“Over the past few years we have recognised that today’s residential gardens are now limited in space to grow the trees and shrubs that might once have been grown on larger sections,” says managing director of Kiwiflora Nurseries, Nalin Gooneratne.
“We have put a great deal of effort into researching and cultivating the types of trees and shrubs that are suitable for the needs of the new-age gardener.
We have also made it easier for our customers,
both wholesalers and the public, to purchase plants online or in-store from our garden centre by keeping our website updated with the range of plants we
have available.”

It’s not only in its plant offerings that Kiwiflora has maintained its reputation as a very strong player in its industry. In the past year they have created a very large (5000m2) new area for their large specimen trees, and a 400m2 covered space for their retail garden centre.

“The new covered space was much needed,” say Nalin. “It makes selecting plants in any weather a pleasant experience so it fits perfectly with our emphasis on excellent customer service in everything we do.”
