A cosy winter refresh

For many of us, the bedroom is an oasis. When the seasons change, it is a nice time to refresh and transform your space to suit the change in temperature and mood. For winter, adding extra layers of cosiness in the bedroom makes those chilly nights that much easier. Here are a few tips:

Change your bedding

In the warmer months, fabrics like linen and cotton are popular, but when winter rolls around, switch up your bedding to warmer fabrics. Opt for materials like fleece or flannel, or heavy cotton for extra warmth. You can also switch out your duvet to a heavier weight, one with a down filling will keep you toasty all night.

Add some layers

Adding a nice throw to the end of your bed not only gives you an extra layer to keep warm under, but it adds a nice cosy feel to the room. A chunky knit throw is a great accessory and can add a pop of colour to the room. If you have hard floors, add a fluffy rug to give extra warmth and a softer look to the space.

Layer your colours

Colours completely change the feel of a space. In winter, adding layers of warm neutrals is a great way to bring in warmth when it is chilly and dark outside. You can do this by layering different neutral hues with cushions, throws, art, dried flowers or rugs. These colours also add a calming feel to the space.
