It’s no wonder the lovely ladies behind the counters at Quilters Quarters look so happy, this one stop treasure trove of haberdashery merchandise is literally buzzing!
With 4000 bolts of exquisite fabrics instore, your sewing projects promise to be phenomenal; factor in that renowned brands, such as Tula Pink, French General, Stof Fabrics, Moda, Kaffe Fassett and the timeless Liberty of London are also in the mix, and you know you’ve accessed the finest in materials and yarns.
Knitters will go nutty exploring the impressive array of beautiful yarns, and fine-needle people will itch to stitch something sensational from the extensive selection of premium threads. Being agents for Elna, Janome and Husqvarna sewing machines, as well as Baby Lock over-lockers, gives customers the opportunity to both view the machines and get plenty of advice as to the best fit for them.
Quilters Quarters run patchwork, crochet and sewing classes in their bright and spacious onsite classroom. Make your very own tuffet (just like the one Little Miss Muffet sat on), or a really cool bag to swing from your shoulder. Saving the very best news till last, soon the store goes online shopping, and owner Pauline Forrest says this is a fantastic addition that will grow and strengthen their brand for the future. “Customers will be able to browse and buy online – anything from our stock through to registering for a class tutorial. We’re very excited!”

It was just over nine years ago that Pauline Forrest changed her career and bought a business in the township of Rangiora. It was a business that Pauline, a self-confessed “handicrafty kind of girl”, had a passion for and, under her management, Quilters Quarters has gone from strength to strength, providing the best and latest in materials and craft and haberdashery supplies.
Quilters Quarters stocks some 4,000 bolts of fabric, including the classic and timeless Liberty of London and top international brands such as Stof Fabrics, Moda, Tula Pink, French General and Kaffe Fassett. “We are committed to keeping up with the latest overseas trends in fabrics, colour and design,” Pauline says. A recent addition is an excellent and increasing selection of woollen yarns, and knitting and embroidering supplies. “We pride ourselves on being the go-to one-stop-shop, where everything to do with handicrafts can be found under one roof, including sewing machines,” Pauline says.
“We are agents for Elna, Husqvarna and Janome, and we’re very fortunate that we have an excellent mechanic available for servicing sewing machine repairs.” For those wishing to upskill their crafts, or for those who have a desire to learn, but have had little or no experience, Quilters Quarters has a bright and spacious classroom in store, from which they run classes and workshops that coincide with the regular four term school year. Tutors from throughout North Canterbury teach a variety of projects and techniques at all levels, from beginner to advanced.
