Party like it’s 1999: Kaiapoi Club

Being innovative to attract different age groups is what has helped to keep the Kaiapoi Club relevant to its community for over 130 years.

Its activities, facilities, and events are wide-ranging to appeal to both older and younger patrons. Everything from billiards, cards, creative arts, darts, fishing, golf, and bowls have their devotees as do the Quiz Nights, the Housie Nights, and the raffles.

But what really brings in the crowds of locals are the musical shows the club offers. Coming up on 1 April is a show like no other the club has staged. They have had plenty of shows devoted to the 70s and 80s, but Girl Power is all about the 90s. Five female performers perform the most loved hits of the 1990s, in this three hour, high energy music show. With songs by Shania Twain, Destiny’s Child, Britney Spears, The Spice Girls, Madonna, Alanis Morrisette, Cher, and many more iconic 90s artists, this show is guaranteed to get people partying like it’s 1999. There will be cocktails and drinks available, a two-course meal deal, and a pumping dance floor.

It’s not only with events and activities that the Kaiapoi Club strives to stay ahead of the game. Keeping up to date with technological changes is another way it enhances the membership experience. Recently the club has been encouraging members to download their mobile membership app for Apple or Android phones. Not only does this do away with the hassle of having to carry a membership card, but it improves the immediacy of communicating with members.
