On trend gowns

You may have recently become engaged and are in search of your dream gown, or envisioning your future bridal ensemble.

You can draw inspiration from the exciting and daring wedding dress trends predicted for 2024.

Floral motifs
Oversized floral motifs stole the show on recent bridal show runways. This modern take on a classic bridal style offers a breath of fresh air for brides looking to push the boundaries of tradition in a whimsical yet feminine way.

Pretty Pastels
More designers are experimenting with colour, which is certainly a reason to celebrate for any brides out there looking for something other than white. Pastels are proving popular from small hand-painted flowers to full pastel tulle ball gowns, with pastel blue revealed to be the most popular.

Maximalism
Sequins and sparkles are now adorning gowns. While there are always understated options in many bridal designer’s lines, next year there will be a strong glam presence. As they say, more is more.

Back to black
Contrary to tradition the black dress is becoming increasingly popular among Gen Z brides who are undoing the rules when it comes to wedding fashion. (Peek at the Wilkins Bridal pages on 58-59 to spy some local black dresses)

Bridal gloves
Falling on the accessory side, bridal gloves are worth mentioning as making a comeback. Whether you opt for vintage vibes or satin luxe, wearing gloves is a perfect way to add a touch of drama to your bridal look.
