Earlier this year, the family-owned company celebrated its 10-year anniversary, and, more recently, they’ve debuted into men’s footwear, via Mikko Men’s. Colourwise, there is an array of mood-boosting brights on offer this season. ‘Tropical Brights’ is a trend that Mikko perfectly describes as ‘Miami at sunset’; think rich papaya and mandarin, deep fuchsia, magenta, and bubble gum. ‘Lavender Haze’ is the catwalk colour of the year, and comprises feminine shades of mauve, lavender, violet, and lilac. Optimistic and uplifting, ‘Elemental Blues’ features a spectrum of hues from cobalt and cyan, to sky blue.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a season at Mikko without a stunning neutral palette. This Spring/Summer it’s presented via ‘Warm Mid-Century’ – think humble everyday tones of ecru, biscuit and malt, to ‘Blended Whites’, a spectrum of every shade from icy cool white to warm cream, ivory, and bone.
In silhouettes, there’s an offering to suit all tastes. ‘French Girl Style’ is playfully chic, featuring timeless flats, points, and loafers, with classical adornments. ‘Grecian Goddess’ is another highlight, comprising soft metallic leathers, intricate woven leather sandals, and elegant low heels. For those who love to make a statement, look to ‘Superficial Adornments’; everyday styles are embellished with buckles, daisies, and diamantes, with the sole purpose of looking fabulous.
