Join us for the race: Kaiapoi Club

There is always a real buzz around Cup Week with various groups putting on special events to celebrate. The Kaiapoi Club will be taking advantage of the scrapping of Covid-19 restrictions to put on a really good party.

It all kicks off in the week of the Kaikoura and Melbourne cups – Monday 31 October and Tuesday
1 November. There will be big screens set up to watch the racing action and a continuous free sausage sizzle barbeque from 11.00am will be serving much needed sustenance.

NZ Trotting Cup Day itself on Tuesday 8 November – yes it’s going to be returned to all its former glory – will be a chance for Kaiapoi Club punters to dress up, to enjoy a sweepstake called the Punters Club, along with excellent food – and of course the races themselves. Cap the day off with dancing to showband DnD – a fitting end to a great day.

All these activities are typical of the way the Kaiapoi Club constantly looks for fun and interesting ways of attracting locals to the club. They won’t be stopping with the races either. They already have more musical shows planned for the future – a Roy Orbison and Neil Diamond Tribute Show on 22 October and a NZ

Country music extravaganza with Jodie Vaughan and Brendan Duggan on 19 November.

It’s no wonder the club is thriving. People just want to have a good time after so many restrictions.
