If the shoe fits… The Shoe Room
Putting your feet first means choosing shoes that combine function with fashion. The Shoe Room does just that. Recently opened in Upper Riccarton, The Shoe Room is a footwear store like no other. Metropol catches up with Podiatrist Charlotte Russell – who established the venture – to find out why.
WHY IS THE SHOE ROOM DIFFERENT AND WHY IS THIS DIFFERENCE IMPORTANT?
“My patients at Feet First Podiatry were looking for footwear that was functional but also fun, funky and fashionable. I’ve personally selected each shoe in the store for the features offered; be it extra width, depth for hammer toes, or room to accommodate orthotics.”
WHY VISIT THE SHOE ROOM?
“I train the team in footwear fitting. We pride ourselves on knowing our stock, so if you have a specific problem, we can offer suggestions to accommodate this. Individualised fittings are a key part of the approach as our team ensure your shoes fit properly, offer great comfort and look great, too.”
DO YOU NEED A PRE-EXISTING INJURY OR ISSUE TO VISIT THE SHOE ROOM?
“No, not at all. Part of our mission is to educate our customers that proper footwear is an investment in wellbeing. A good shoe offers support, cushioning and all-day comfort. Different feet have different needs, depending on your occupation, foot shape and any other issues. We stock a sizeable range of brands and styles that can accommodate these different requirements. So even if you don’t have ‘problem’ feet now, let’s keep it that way! Visit The Shoe Room at 3/355 Riccarton Road for fashionable functional footwear and fabulous service.”
