Fire & Feast street festival
A two-day celebration of the very best Canterbury kai is your chance to eat Michelin star food without the fine dining price tag.
P reviously Fire on High, an annual one-day food fest on High Street, the reimagined Fire and Feast celebrates the very best of local food and produce. Back bigger than ever, the event will be held over two days on 12 and 13 September at its new home in Cathedral Square.
Event director Brendan Murray explains the festival: “We have 16 of the city’s best restaurants set up with handmade, Asados-style barbecues for people to enjoy the best of fire-food – live coals, hanging asados, smoking cauldrons. Everything is cooked by flame.”
Chefs bringing their magic to Fire and Feast include Simon Levy from Inati, Shafeeq Ismali from Odeon and Edizi, Hannah Crisp from Crisp and Vale, and Mike Bones of Bones Pickles.
With fires burning from 11am till late both days, live music, a full bar, and even a special area for kids to toast marshmallows, Fire and Feast is firing up for spring! So get the family together and bring your biggest appetite.
