Caring for dry skin

Dry skin can be treated, and as with many problems, prevention is often better than having to seek a cure.

If you have dry skin, wash once a day with a cream cleanser and then use a soothing serum, followed by a moisturising cream.

If your skin peels a lot, try a microdermabrasion scrub to exfoliate dead skin cells, followed by a moisturiser that’s packed with hyaluronic acid, ceramides, or nourishing and soothing vitamin E.

Dermatologists also recommend:
• Avoiding hot baths and showers
• Applying moisturiser immediately after washing
• Using an ointment or cream rather than a lotion
• Wearing lip balm
• Using gentle, fragrance-free skin care products
• Adding a humidifier to your bedroom in the winter to further help maintain skin moisture
