A space for celebrations: Sprig + Fern Merivale

When the holidays near, an after-work drink, or meal out with friends, family, or colleagues no longer needs justification, because it’s Christmas.

Sprig + Fern Merivale shows no signs of stopping when it comes to creating exciting, tailored celebrations.
A favourite of theirs is Football Shirt Sundays, which can be “exceedingly busy” according to co-owner Wendy Roigard, offering plenty of banter to go alongside the 18 taps of beer and cider. They also accommodate small to large functions and work with you to tailor a solution to your event requirements.

The Sprig offers a ‘home away from home’ vibe and comes with a cosy and comfortable feel, like you’re nestled away in Old Blighty sipping on a pint and even better, your pooch is invited. “If you pop in with your dog and want to stay for another drink but haven’t fed them yet,” Wendy says, “we can sort that out,” with dog meals on the menu.

Alongside the beer is a developing wine selection, extensive gin list and a new summer menu. Their large deck, dubbed “one of the best decks in town” is perfect for those ultra-hot days and warm evenings.

Pop in, bring your pup, and don’t forget a football shirt, to Sprig + Fern Merivale at 7 St Albans Street, Christchurch.
