Beyond the track: Serve Social
Cup and Show Week is about the races, fashion, and celebrating with friends and colleagues – but don’t let that stop you from taking the celebrations one step further.
Serve Social is Christchurch’s ultimate spot to eat, drink, and play. With activities and packages to meet all interests and skill levels, the St Asaph Street venue is your home to hang out with friends and have some friendly competition. From escape rooms and ping pong to Supercharged Shuffleboard, cornhole, darts and brand new The Game Show, you’ll find just as much a thrill as when your horse is winning the race.
Making the perfect activity for groups during the week, both for after the races or to fill your time in between, the packages offer two to three hours of playing and cater to groups of up to 150 people. Alongside their activities, find a variety of food and drink to add to your experience from cocktails and other drink options to their range of pizzas and bar snacks.
Serve Social is about bringing classic games to life using high-tech twists. Owner Logan McMillan says their most popular activities are ping pong and darts. “Darts use real dart boards with cameras around the outside and a TV showing a range of different fun games for any skill level,” says Logan.
Another popular option is their escape rooms. “We like to think of them as cinematic,” claims Logan. With cleverly themed music tracks and sound effects, “We like to put different story twists into the rooms.” The staff emcee different competitions and finals, elevating the atmosphere.
Serve Social is one of the only places in Christchurch for adult-focused fun. “We realised adults want to go and do fun activities, so we created that place.” Offering a customer-focused, immersive experience different to other bars and venues in the area, Serve Social is where you’ll find activities to fill your itinerary and carry on the Cup and Show Week celebrations.
Book ahead to ensure you don’t miss out on the fun.
