As we trot toward Cup Week, the Golden Mile Tavern on the corner of Main South Road and Trent Road in Templeton transforms itself into a racing mecca. On top of the usual great food and warm, welcoming hospitality, expect drinks specials, spot prizes for best dressed, the stunning Golden Mile Lindauer Lawn, Cup Week décor, and a mega raffle in aid of Christchurch Riding for the Disabled which runs for the whole week, manager Kelly Downing says. 
Come Cup Day, the energy reaches a level higher with live music from the last race and complimentary food for all. Watch races all day, avoid the long queues, and dance the night away. The week is concluded on Saturday 16 November with music from the band Oblivion – a local favourite.
