Ripe 2023 the Wānaka Wine and Food Festival
Exciting wine and food options and majestic scenery set the scene for this year’s Ripe Festival on Saturday 18 March.
All roads lead to Glendhu Bay, Wānaka for the return of Ripe – The Wānaka Wine & Food Festival, which has all the ingredients for a memorable day out.
Ripe is about the passion and energy for the best wine and food from the region, and New Zealand.
Festival goers can meet the makers – world-class Central Otago wine and food producers – and enjoy wine tastings, live music, great food and culinary demonstrations, while soaking up the atmosphere.
Twenty Central Otago wine companies will showcase their wares, including labels such as Akarua, Amisfield, Burn Cottage, Cloudy Bay, Māori Point, Maude, Mishas Vineyard, Quartz Reef, Rippon, Valli, and Gibbston Valley.
A tempting array of food will also be on offer. Those looking for a bit of extra pampering can head to the Maude VIP tent. This area includes complimentary wine served throughout the day from local legends Maude Wines and plenty of delicious canapes served up by
The Platter Share.
Enjoy a relaxed atmosphere at your table under guaranteed shade, dip off to the private luxury loos and relish being just close enough to the stage to enjoy the music while still being able to chat about your new favourite wines.
History
Ripe was created by Wānaka resident Nathan White. With a passion for Central Otago wine, he set out to showcase the regions world-class producers to New Zealand and the world (one-day). The inaugural event was a major success, gaining credibility as a new player in the list of New Zealand’s best wine and food events.
The 2021 edition of Ripe – The Wānaka Wine & Food Festival was nominated in the prestigious NZEA Event Awards – Best Lifestyle event of the year category, confirming what Nathan knew all along, Central Otago has all the ingredients to make it one of the premium spots in New Zealand for wine and food showcasing.
