While some fled the post earthquake fear and destruction, others rushed back to Christchurch, keen to use their skills to put our broken city back together.
Especially valuable were those who went in at ground level, laying foundations, repairing accessways, and fashioning strength where there was weakness.
One such contributor is Marley Hyslop. Director of ConCreate Christchurch, Marley began his concreting career 22 years ago and has worked in Queenstown, Wellington, Auckland, and Australia.
“After the earthquakes, I wanted to help rebuild my city, in all my travels I never lost my love for my hometown.” The team provide an intimate service, “We only do one job at a time, so the project gets our full attention, plus it is me that works one to one with the client,” says Marley.
Driveways, paths, and patios are the teams specialty, as well as concrete floors and foundations. The major focus is residential but the team are well equipped for commercial jobs too.
The reward is the finished product, “Our quality of work is on show and the great results and feedback keep us us focused and driven to complete each and every job with the same level of integrity.”
