Bespoke, sustainable treasures: Pure by the Barrel Man

Creativity and sustainability have come together, organic reaction-style, to produce exceptionally made products for your home.

From recycled oak wine barrels comes art, furniture, homewares, and garden ornaments. Chairs to gumboot racks, platters to plant stands, the Pure by The Barrel Man range is as extensive as it is thoughtfully presented.

The team also recycle and create from the metal hoops of the wine barrels and metal rods from vineyards to make amazing garden art and sculptures including, metal cubes, five different spheres, hearts and flowers, dragonflies, butterflies, a hanging cockerel, albatross, and a pukeko within the hoop, koru, and four-leaf clover for those destined for some sustainable luck. “We make to order, and make one-offs, and everything is available online and in-store at 30 Ashworths Beach Road, Leithfield, plus at Ohoka Farmers Market on Fridays.

Our gift boxes are very popular as corporate presents and can be completely personalised to each client,” says Tania Candy who owns the business with husband Darryn. Onsite artist Dean carves art with a chainsaw. He creates bespoke pieces onsite at clients’ properties, and to buy in-store. “Mushrooms, mushroom stools, owls, eagles, wizards, hedgehogs, bears, fairy houses, and more have appeared from his enchanted chainsaw,” says Tania, “If you can dream it, we can create it!”
