The ‘suite’ life: Burlington Village Care Centre

It was excitement all around at the opening of the new Burlington Village Care Centre on Saturday 4 May at 171 Prestons Road, Redwood.

With the fabulous Janice Gray singing and entertaining the visitors, it was a great atmosphere and a wonderful opportunity for not only looking though the new Care Centre, but also for viewing eight architecturally designed standalone houses which will be ready for occupancy by the end of May. Burlington Village will eventually have around 200 luxurious houses, with a range of designs, including both single storey and two storey options.

The Care Centre is a single storey building comprised of 60 care suites, all of which have outdoor living in which to relax and enjoy the company of family and friends. Marketing Manager Jemma Appleton says the suites in the new Care Centre are generously proportioned with the smallest suite being twice the size than the norm; the biggest suite is 40 square metres.

The completed Burlington Village will have beautifully landscaped grounds and three hectares of man-made lakes, making it, undoubtedly, one of the most picturesque retirement villages in Christchurch. It will offer a comprehensive range of accommodation options: independent houses, serviced houses, serviced apartments, dementia care, as well as rest home and hospital-level care.
