Take ewe anywhere: Davaar and Co.
Synthetic garments may have the convenience factor, but they could never compare to a garment of Aotearoa-grown virgin wool for looks, warmth and that all-important snuggle factor.
This 100 percent natural fibre’s properties are worth extolling. Wool is biodegradable, sustainable, ethical, renewable, resilient, non-toxic, and is a natural temperature regulator and fire retardant.
Kate MacDonald loves wool so much that she recently launched Davaar and Co, to bring a touch of classic country to the city, and remind us why wool is so uber-cool.
“Our jerseys are a crossbreed composite of Romney, Perendale and Texel. The sheep are bred on my family’s farm, then the wool is scoured at Washdyke, spun in Wellington and knitted in Dunedin.”
Kate’s commitment to supporting local sees the finished product sustainably packaged by Kate from the cottage she resides in on the 1100-hectare station.
Reflecting our unique landscape, the jerseys come in four colours – snow, bark, granite and tussock.
So versatile are these jerseys, you can wear them to the gym, the office, the bistro, catching a movie, picking up the kids, and that really important one…snuggling with your best buddy at day’s end.
