Supreme renovation: LM Architectural Builders
A Merivale home has won the coveted Supreme Renovation of the Year in this year’s Master Builder House of the Year Awards for LM Architectural Builders.
Proving that the right extension can add much more than square metres to a home, this Merivale home, recently renovated by LM Architectural Builders, has bagged a swag of awards at this year’s Master Builder House of the Year, including Supreme Renovation, Regional Winner, Regional Gold, and Renovation up to $500,000.
What have the builders done so right to earn these accolades? According to the judges, the 46sqm extension that turns the once L-shaped property into a U, feels as though it has always belonged, which is one of the hardest things to achieve in renovation work. “Exceptional craftsmanship is matched with restraint and respect for the existing home. Working on a tight site with difficult access, the builder faced challenges from the outset, yet the transition from old to new has been handled with remarkable care.”
Managing director of Barclays Electrical Blair Barclay says the project involved a challenging cabling route back to the existing switchboard as well as installing interior and exterior lighting.
“Working alongside LM Architectural Builders was a pleasure, ensuring a seamless integration between the existing home and new addition,” Blair says. Beautifully resolved from top to bottom, this is renovation work of the highest order and a credit to a talented and dedicated team. The owners loved the new guest quarters so much they decided to move in themselves.
