Serving food made from scratch using locally sourced ingredients is a recipe for success at Kaiapoi’s Urban Revival. “The focus is revival of the mind, body and soul with quality cuisine,” says café owner Clare Giffard, an advocate of creating food from its natural state.
Open seven days a week, Clare and her team offer delicious baked muffins, scones, and other freshly baked treats, with dinner available on Friday evenings. Enjoy a menu consisting of delectable pizzas, pastas, steak, slow cooked beef cheeks, and more. A selection of tap beers and local wines pair tastefully with each plate. The kitchen’s most popular menu item is the eggs Benedict, delicately placed on their own house-made hash. Alongside their extensive range of baked goods, “We do an extensive amount of baking and creating,” Clare says.
The venue hosts a range of groups and events throughout the year. With a private meeting room and the availability for private events after hours, the café makes a warm and welcoming space for groups and corporates. “The setting of the environment is very warm and welcoming,” says Clare, “with lots of glass looking out onto green spaces in the community.” It’s a beautiful natural space for nurturing team building.
