Queenstown winning build: David Reid Homes

This stunning, architecturally designed home in Queenstown won the 2022 Registered Master Builders House of the Year GIB Show Home category.

David Reid Homes Queenstown, won the national show home award for the house, which judges say was planned meticulously to create a versatile environment with the ability to entertain.

“Whether it is in the outdoor covered area by the fire, or the living area with full height windows and skylights, which provide uninterrupted views of the Remarkable mountains, there is an impressive attention to detail. Quality features throughout can be seen from the moment you arrive at the impressive entranceway. The builder’s workmanship is demonstrated throughout this beautifully appointed show home and it is one that the company is clearly proud to present,” the judges’ citation says.

The thermal efficient, eco-design show home has a pavilion-style layout, with a northerly aspect, clever floor plan, extensive decking and the luxury of a covered outdoor room with fireplace.

The living wing enjoys unobstructed mountain views, while the dramatic timber ceiling, bagged schist fire place and custom kitchen give it a modern alpine feel.

The master bedroom features an elegant mezzanine, and opens out to a secluded cedar hot tub.
This wing also includes two bedrooms, bathroom and separate powder room.
