Off and racing: Mega Motorcycle Centre

Great Kiwi motorcycle racers such as Andrew Stroud, Aaron Slight and Denis Charlett can trace their careers back to racing child-friendly bikes around tracks designed to give them their first taste of two-wheeled competition.

This first taste is now open to a whole new generation of would-be champion riders thanks to the Mega Motorcycle Centre and its Kayo 150 Mini GP bikes.

Built to comply with a new racing class created by Motorcycling New Zealand, the Kayo 150 will enable young riders aged between seven and 13 to race around New Zealand’s greatest circuits.

Each Level 1 Kayo 150 Mini GP bike is powered by a single cylinder 150cc four stroke engine in a small custom built frame with 12-inch wheels.

They are essentially a scaled down version of what the riders use in top flight MotoGP competition. There is also a back catalogue of additional parts and spares which can be acquired if your son or daughter decides they want to emulate Valentino Rossi in the future.
