Moped with street cred: Voltrix
The look on the face of the driver next to me at the lights was priceless. My moped was able to out-accelerate him off the mark, and silently zoom up to the speed limit of 50km/h says reviewer Ben Selby.
This is just one of the cool features of the newest local offering to electric urban mobility, the Voltrix Flii 3 e-moped.
With a 72v 40Ah lithium-ion battery sending charge though a 3000w electric motor, the Voltrix gives 80km of range on a single charge.
A full charge from flat can also be achieved between five or six hours from a conventional three-point plug.
Taking elements from the likes of Italian scooters and even a snippet of 50s Americana, the Voltrix certainly has street cred. A single digital instrument cluster houses your speed, battery life and what gear you are in. You can ride the Voltrix in first or second gear, with the first limiting the top speed to 30km/h, while the latter allows for the full 50km/h top speed. You even have reverse assist.
I found myself slicing through urban traffic with ease, grinning from ear to ear. The Voltrix Flii 3 e-moped really does get under your skin. It’s fun too.
