Mandeville St cafe magic: Mandeville Street Kitchen


Amazing food, great coffee and friendly, smiling staff are the hallmarks of a successful cafe and that’s where Mandeville Street Kitchen ticks all the boxes.

New street signage points the way to this small yet popular cafe on Mandeville Street in Riccarton, while inside is a tempting array of edibles, either made on-site, or in collaboration with Bellbird Bakery.

It’s food like owner Sarah-Jane Garden’s grandmother used to make, with real butter and top-quality ingredients, baked in-house.Dine-in or takeaway, with breakfasts from 7am, along with those early morning shots of local Prima Roastery coffee.

Morning tea, lunches and a mid-afternoon sugar fix are all catered for, with a changing assortment of delicious sweet and savoury options. Food is prepared daily, using the best of fresh, local ingredients.

Specialty baker Tash Grieve of Shortcrumb also runs her business from the cafe, adding to the modern takes on traditional cafe food, including vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, sugar-free and keto options.

If a cake or more extensive catering is called for, Sarah-Jane and the team will also create and deliver to order.

Cafe Tempting menu and counter food options are available Monday to Friday from 7am to 4pm at Unit 4/57 Mandeville Street.
