Making social simple: Metros Marketing

There is no denying that digital advertising space can be confusing and sometimes intimidating.

Knowing exactly where to spend your hard-earned dollars can be a tricky hurdle to traverse. During the the past few weeks, Facebook (now known as Meta) has laid
off 11,000 employees.

After 18 years of consistent growth, this is the first time in Meta’s history that they have seemingly taken a step backward. For a long time, Facebook has dominated the social media space, acquiring Instagram in 2012 and WhatsApp in 2014.

More recently, social media platform TikTok has disrupted the space, taking advertising dollars away from Meta, forcing this drastic change internally.

Moving forwards to next year, I believe we will see a large shift in digital advertising, with advertisers spending less with Meta while confidence is low. The shift may be investing in other digital advertising platforms, such as Google or TikTok, or into other channels such as print.

It is surprising to find a client (at least in my experience) who hasn’t had some sort of difficulty with the ins and outs of social media advertising.

It can be a confusing space to get your head around, so if you do need some advice, feel free to call me.
