Join the excitement: Sail Grand Prix


Intense races, iconic global venues, elite teams and athletes, record-breaking speeds. SailGP is the most exciting racing on water and it all starts this weekend (18-19 March) in Ōtautahi, Christchurch.

In a few days, thousands of fans will get a glimpse into one of the world’s fastest-growing sports and entertainment properties. From thrills and spills to a vibrant party atmosphere, the ITM New Zealand Sail Grand Prix is shaping up to be the event of the Kiwi summer.

GETTING TO AND FROM THE ITM NEW ZEALAND SAIL GRAND PRIX
If you have tickets, the fastest, most efficient and most sustainable way to get to the ITM New Zealand Sail Grand Prix will be via official event shuttles, FREE for all ticket-holders. Shuttles will depart from the city centre live site, located opposite Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre from 11.30am until 2.15pm each day, and return to Te Pae after the racing from 4.30pm. The Race Village opens at midday, and patrons are encouraged to get there early to enjoy the vibrant atmosphere on-site.
All ticket holders will also have free access to Metro buses and ferries across Christchurch to get to and from the central city live site, location by showing your ITM New Zealand Sail Grand Prix ticket. While branded taxis will be able to travel through road closures, rideshare services such as Uber will not.

If you missed out on tickets, the ITM New Zealand Sail Grand Prix Live Site, powered by Enable, is the best place to catch the live racing. The family-friendly space will be buzzing with great vibes, activities, food stalls and most importantly, a big screen to watch all the action.
The live site is also the shuttle collection point for SailGP ticket holders travelling to the event in Lyttelton.

Where: Located at The Green between Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre and Cathedral Square.
When: Catch the racing between
3 – 4.30pm across Saturday 18 – Sunday 19 March, and on practice day, Friday 17 March, with delayed coverage ONLY at the live site. The live site will be open from 12pm – 7pm Friday 17 March and 10am – 8pm Saturday 18 – Sunday 19 March.
