Offering one of Christchurch’s most beautiful outdoor seating areas, High Tea at the Chateau on the Park, a DoubleTree by Hilton, is a ritual of refinement.
Picture delicate savouries like cucumber and cream cheese sandwiches, brie and grape skewers, and pork and shrimp dim sum spoons. It wouldn’t, though, be a proper high tea without fluffy scones covered in lashings of jam and butter, and plenty of sweet treats. The Chateau’s High Tea menu also offers exquisite mini vanilla crème brûlées, assorted macaroons, and fruit with pastry cream tartelettes, all served with fine teas, coffee, or sparkling wine. Whether in the lit interior or the rose-filled gardens, it’s an experience not to be missed.
This summer, the popular Sunset Sessions also return to the Chateau. From mid-November, Friday evenings at The Garden Court Brasserie come alive with wood-fired pizzas straight from the outdoor pizza oven, and alfresco dining under a golden sky. Set among five acres of award-winning gardens and a charming moat, this is Christchurch’s most enchanting setting for summer evenings.
