Hear clear as a bell: Bellbird Hearing

One of life’s milestones is admitting that your hearing isn’t what it used to be.

When the time is right to address the issue, you want to be treated like an individual. You want your lifestyle aspirations met, and not be treated as an average of the clients that have been in this week.

You’ll find this personal touch at Bellbird Hearing in Ilam. “Clients say it’s our people that make us stand out,” says Sam Sloane. With nine years’ experience in hearing care, Sam is a fully qualified MNZAS Audiologist with a special interest in hearing rehabilitation and tinnitus.
Sam understands everybody is unique, and hearing loss affects people differently.

Sam’s appointments include tests for the ability to hear important speech frequencies. “However, you can’t judge on the tests alone,” says Sam, “Ten clients could have exactly the same degree of hearing impairment, but report totally different hearing problems.” Sam’s key role is to listen to you, then offer the best advice on how to manage your hearing loss and tinnitus over the long term.

MNZAS qualified Audiologist Caroline Smales has almost 11 years of clinical experience and has developed a strong following. Sought for her experience, caring nature, and excellent listening skills, Caroline puts the client at the centre of everything she does. “As we age, we all know how important it is to stay connected with family and friends. I understand these communication difficulties and strive
to support my clients on their journey to better hearing and to improve the quality of life for them and their families,” says Caroline.

Anna Cleary is Bellbird’s specialist ear nurse. A registered nurse with 30 years’ experience, Anna has worked here and in the UK. Specialising in ear wax removal, she is one of Christchurch’s most experienced ear nurses. Friendly and gentle, Anna has dedicated the last 10 years of her career to performing wax removal.  “Nursing for me is all about caring for and helping people. Here at Bellbird that is my aim, to take care of our clients and help them achieve and maintain good hearing,” says Anna.

Senior Administrator Jan Blair is expert in helping clients find the support they need, by phone or in person. Committed to a family focused approach to client care, Jan enjoys assisting with any hearing aid maintenance or repair issues.

Together, the local Bellbird Hearing team provides high quality hearing care and continuity.

But don’t just take their word for it, call them on 03 351 1172 to book a hearing appointment, and see the difference for yourself.
