FRINGE
Sift through almost any show from last year’s spring runways abroad and fringe is a favourite. From designers behind Alaia, Balenciaga, Balmain, Bottega Veneta, Burberry, Calvin Klein, Chanel, Ferragamo, Louis Vuitton, McQueen… now, as if on cue, sent swinging down the runway by Aotearoa’s Juliette Hogan, By Kai, Zambesi and more at New Zealand
Fashion Week 2026.
Hero image: Juliette Hogan’s early evening show featured an installation of cascading, illuminated fringe – the latest evolution of a curtain motif featured in past JH shows, reimagined this year as deconstructed and loose. That same fringing carried onto the runway in a selection of fluid, hand-finished pieces.
