Five star luxury: Eliza’s Manor

You may be expecting visitors over the summer holiday period. Finding somewhere a little different for them to stay is not always the easiest of tasks.

If you are seeking unique charm and elegance there is a solution – Eliza’s Manor on Bealey Avenue, built back in 1861. Each of the manor’s eight boutique bedrooms is individually decorated with a mix of historic and contemporary touches from their wallpapers to their bedding, from their stained glass windows to their chandeliers. There are four deluxe king rooms and four superior queen rooms.

The bathrooms are a joy to behold, especially in the king rooms with their designer baths, as well as huge showers. Of course there are all the luxury detail touches you would want in the fine toiletries and the tea and coffee making facilities.

The treats at Eliza’s don’t stop with the accommodation. There is a cedar barrel sauna available for hotel guests, and then there is the food for which Eliza’s is renowned. A new spring/summer menu has recently been introduced featuring local produce and fresh seasonal flavours brought together in interesting and delicious combinations.

Paua and smoked pork hock with filo pastry and hot sauce crumble, or smoked mackerel croquettes with pear chutney, or ricotta and shallot tortellini with roast onion brodo, speak volumes of the creativity of the chefs at Eliza’s.

The restaurant at this five Gold Star Qualmark hotel at 82 Bealey Avenue is also open to casual diners.
