Dream, believe, succeed: 2019 Dream Believe Succeed Big Break Award
Young, motivated entrepreneurs in Christchurch and Canterbury are advised to get their applications in now for the 2019 Dream Believe Succeed Big Break Award.
This is the opportunity of a lifetime for 15-23 year olds to win a 100k business start-up package. The Dream, Believe, Succeed Foundation was launched in 2018. It was established to give business-driven youth the opportunity to develop their entrepreneurial spirit by providing a funding start up, together with a service and mentoring package to commence their own business or grow their existing business with the goal of becoming a successful business person.
Last year’s contest winner, Oliver Hunt, has gone on to launch Medsalv, a single use medical device reprocessing business that saves costs for both the healthcare system and the environment. Dream, Believe, Succeed was founded by Steve Brooks, who began his first business at just 12 years of age. At 14 he qualified as New Zealand’s youngest real estate agent and at 16 he purchased his first rental property. Steve’s goal was to be a millionaire by 21; he achieved this at 19.
Steve had always determined that once he reached his goal, he would start an award to inspire young entrepreneurs; something that was not available to him when he was starting out. Contest entries close December 16. Finalists will be announced on December 21, and then they present their business plan in the Dragon’s Den, February 2019.
