Dance the winter blues away: Kaiapoi Club

We all need a bit of a “pick me up” in the depths of winter when it seems that warm weather is just a figment of our imaginations.

It’s all too easy to stay shut up in our homes in a state of hibernation when we should make an effort to get out and about to blow away those winter blues.

That’s definitely what the team at the Kaiapoi Club thinks, and they have put together a great programme of events and shows to entice North Canterbury people into the warmth and conviviality of their facility. Coming up next on 5 August is the versatile DnD Showband with their double bill of Disco Divas and an Abba tribute. Colour, movement, spontaneity, chemistry, and laughter make this band a great visual experience.

Then on 12 August is the Totally 80s tribute band – a celebration of everything from that era. Think all the hits from Madonna, Simple Minds, Pretenders, Pat Benatar, Rick Astley, and many more.

With all that, winter will become a distant memory.
The fun continues into spring too.
On 16 September there will be a show and dinner package featuring The Court Theatre’s Scared Scriptless troupe. There will most certainly be mayhem and hilarity with this group of highly talented actors – so reserve your spot. Apart from the shows at the club there is also the regular Monday Housie night to tempt people out, as well as a great indoor market once a month on a Sunday between 11am – 3pm.

All these activities are typical of the way the Kaiapoi Club constantly looks for different and interesting ways of attracting locals to the club.
