Catching up

Christchurch is full of vibrant venues, old and new, where people can catch up, connect, and reconnect.

Get together after work, relax during the weekend, or schedule work meetings outside the office and discover all that Ōtautahi and its people have to offer.
Foster connections with people of different ages, cultures, and backgrounds to your own, and enrich your outlook on life.

Here are some suggestions:
– Organise a walk around Hagley Park to watch the leaves don their autumn colours. A takeaway coffee will make the walk even more enjoyable.
– Check out local exhibitions and shows together. Make an evening of it. Start with drinks at a local bar before indulging in some culture.
– Engage in friendly competition. The city has plenty of haunts to go bowling, play ping pong, board games, and pool while making new friends.
– Join a volunteer group.
– Become a regular at a café, gym, yoga studio, sports club, or library, and meet new like-minded people.
– Utilise local Facebook groups or online meet-up services to find niche groups such as book clubs, photography, art, and cooking classes, and walking groups.
– Sign up for a group class. Learn a new language, how to play a musical instrument, or start a craft or hobby.
