Captivating art beckons: Christchurch Art Show

Philosopher Henry David Thoreau said, “This world is but a canvas to our imagination.”

Art lovers can let loose their imaginations and view those of others at the annual Christchurch Art Show, Friday 8 to Sunday 10 March.

This year’s show will have more than 150 upcoming and established artists exhibiting at Te Pae Exhibition and Convention Centre.

View a diverse range of traditional and contemporary wall-hung art, exquisite jewellery, ornate ceramics, innovative textiles, object art, sculpture, and large wall art. Prices will range from $200 to more than $20,000, with something to tempt all tastes and budgets.

Space Cowboy

Meet artists who embody colouring outside the lines, in all shades of the spectacular, including first-time Christchurch exhibitor, Space Cowboy, from Australia’s Byron Bay. ‘Green’ is the environmentally-conscious colour choice for event organisers, utilising reusable plastic bags to transport artworks, and championing plastic waste reduction, for positive change in the art show industry.

Book the new VIP Preview Event (5pm-7pm) to enjoy exclusive perks, an open bar, catered platters, and early purchase opportunities, or visit the ever-popular Opening Night (7.30 – 10.30pm).

Alternatively browse art at your leisure, during the weekend show days. Ticket prices: Opening Night $38, VIP Event $95, Saturday & Sunday show days $9.
