By 2040, the number of Cantabrians with neurological conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis, Dementia, Stroke and Parkinson’s, is expected to double to more than 30,000 – around the current population of Timaru.
Significant data now proves that people who adopt a total wellness regime that covers exercise, diet, cognitive stimulation, education, and social connection enjoy better lives.

CHARITY PARTNERSHIP
In 2017, The Canterbury Brain Collective Ltd (CBC) – a registered charity and partnership between Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson’s Canterbury, and Dementia Canterbury – was established. Its goal was to develop a wellness centre for local people living with neurological conditions that would help them live their lives to their fullest potential. In June 2022, BrainTree opened to the public. The spacious and inviting state-of-the-art complex comprises tenant office spaces, a retail shop, a gym, yoga and dance studio, large seminar/meeting rooms, a wholefoods commercial café, an extensive outdoor deck and internal meeting places.
Leesa, Eilish, Ange, Hazel and Phil are the friendly team onsite, and their goal is to give everyone a great experience to ensure they keep returning to the centre.

Bookings for conferences, seminars and private functions are welcome, subject to availability. Contact leesa@canterburybraincollective.org to book or for more information.

CBC and the BrainTree collective wish to thank all donors, funders, partners and supporters for their huge generosity so far in helping realise their vision to establish this first-of-its-kind wellness centre for brain health in New Zealand.
They now welcome donations and funding to support their operational expenses to run the new centre.
