Art in motion

Showcasing 39 mostly local creatives – and one entry from California – Timaru’s Art in Motion show on 5 September was by all measures a resounding success.

Organised by Robyn Valentine, Fiona Pierce, and Catherine Neill, the event aims to provide a platform for creatives to share and showcase their talents in wearable art. The show is made possible thanks to the efforts of a huge team of volunteers who worked as front of house, hair and makeup, dressing, backstage, and modelling.

“The standard of entries just seemed to go way up this year,” says Robyn. “It was great having Vibrant NZ doing stage, sound and lighting again, they really perfected the lighting and transformed Caroline Bay Hall into a professional runway for a first-class show. Very proud!” This year’s winners are as follows:
