A handy new tool: Hanmer Springs App

For some Cantabrians, Hanmer is a popular and calming destination to escape to.

Many of us that live in Christchurch will, once or twice a year, make our way to Hanmer on a Friday night, and arrive feeling tired and ready to eat. With a user base of over 2000 after only 3 1/2 months, The Hanmer Springs App is an excellent tool for perusing restaurant menus, and planning the rest of the weekend without the need for time consuming web or Facebook searches.
The app conveniently includes weather updates, accommodation information, activities to do, and events happening in Hanmer. It also has information that can help you find a property or job, to make Hanmer your new hometown.

For residents of Hanmer, the local hub offered by the app is particularly useful, with tabs for trades, services, news, groups, clubs, and more, all available at your fingertips.

Creator and local Pauline Sargisson saw a need for all information about Hanmer to be centralised. “Our vision is that the app benefits the whole community. Not only do we offer great value exposure for advertisers but their support allows us to provide a platform for all non-profits at no cost. In addition we intend to support the community by donating three percent of our revenue back into local non-profit projects,” she says.
