The excitement of the engagement is over, and next comes the task of organising the wedding. But where to hold such an important occasion? It needs to be special. It needs to be adaptable to different needs, and it needs to be affordable. One place in Christchurch can cover all those bases; the Cashmere Club has been helping couples with their celebrations for 45 years.
Charming and welcoming with four function rooms, the Cashmere Club has a space that suits every eventuality. The Garden Bar seats up to 100 guests for a sit-down meal, or up to 170 cocktail-style. “Bathed in natural light and opening into a lush courtyard garden, the Garden Bar is made for celebrations,” says functions manager Laura Taylor.
Just how adaptable this space is was evident at a recent wedding with a tropical theme. The bridal couple, Jill and Grant, were over the moon with their day. “From the theming that transformed the venue into tropical magic, to the yummy food that everyone could eat, the tailored cocktails and the super helpful staff – we couldn’t have been happier with how it all came together.”
The Cashmere Lounge opens onto sunny decking with river views, seating up to 60 for dinner. The Heathcote Lounge offers an intimate, private setting for receptions of up to 40, while the Sports Hall, which connects to the Garden Bar, seats up to 200 for dinner or 300 cocktail-style.
