Beloved Canterbury-based author and floral stylist, book ahead and secure your spot for a 7 or 12 February ‘pick your own’ session at Kate Williams’ flower fields in Prebbleton. Immerse yourself in one to two hours of picking everything from dahlias, zinnias, and cosmos, to snapdragons, gypsophila, scabiosa, and amaranthus. During your visit you’ll also have time to wander the three-acre country garden, making your outing both abundant and inspiring.

CHRISTCHURCH SUNFLOWER FIELD
This vibrant sunflower field opens on 6 February for a beautiful summer experience, long weekend and beyond. At Rossendale Vineyard in Tai Tapu, the field opening returns this year as a fundraiser for Ladbrooks School, with proceeds supporting two key projects: building an outdoor shelter to keep school bags dry, and raising funds toward a new playground for the growing school community.
Operating seven days a week weather permitting throughout February for $10 donation per person (child under 10 free), enjoy a field full of bright sunflowers and purchase stems for $3 each. DAHLIAS AT BLOOM FLOWER FARM
At 610 Weedons Road near Rolleston, find a beautiful way to slow down, connect with nature, and create a bucket of beauty at Bloom Flower Farm. During a pre-booked, one-hour session, wander the rows of dahlias and fill your bucket (bring one from home) with 20 to 25 stems. Sessions are limited and fill up quickly, so booking is essential.
