Pizza and beer. Burgers and beer. Can you think of a more perfect match?

You’ll find these happily marry together at Wigram Brewing Co’s Hangar 57 Fillery and Taproom on Sonter Road.

“We have just launched an on-site pizzeria and food trailer that faces out to our courtyard,” says Caroline McGurk co-owner of the Wigram Brewing Company. “It’s a first for this part of the city and means we can cater for a much wider range of customers – families especially. Imagine how good this will be in the summer. We are very excited at this new venture to add to everything else we have to offer. It will be great for functions, work events or time with family and friends.”

The pizza chefs will conjure up aviation-themed creations such as the ‘Margarita with Altitude’ (for traditionalists), the ‘Mayday Mayday’ (not for the faint-hearted), the ‘Globe Master’ (for meat lovers) and the ‘Winging It’ (for lovers of chicken).

There are flat breads too – the ‘Plane’, the ‘Economy’ and the ‘Business,’ which need no explaining – all to go with the diverse range of beers brewed by the company. “Over the years we have produced 70 different beers, ales and ciders and we have just brewed a new raspberry sour for the summer,” says Caroline. What better reason do you need to head to the hangar for a bite and a beer?

Find the hangar at 57 Sonter Road, Wigram, for your next pizza and beer fix.
